Our Promise
We want you to be thrilled with your purchase. Every Spiracle Themes product comes with a 14-day, no-questions-asked money-back guarantee. If our Pro theme or addon doesn't meet your expectations — for any reason — we'll refund you in full.
We extended our guarantee from 7 days to 14 days because we believe you deserve enough time to genuinely test a theme with your content, on your server, against your plugins. Seven days isn't enough to know if a product is right for you.
The 14-Day Window
The refund window begins the moment your payment is successfully processed. You have a full 14 calendar days from your purchase date to evaluate the product and decide whether it fits your needs.
There is no limit on the number of times you can request a refund — but if we notice a pattern of repeated buy-and-refund behaviour, we reserve the right to decline future purchases.
What Qualifies for a Refund
You are eligible for a full refund if you meet all of the following conditions:
- Your request is made within 14 days of your original purchase date.
- You purchased a Pro theme, Pro addon, or a bundle directly from Spiracle Themes via Freemius.
- You provide your order ID or the email address used at checkout so we can locate your purchase.
You do not need to give a reason, uninstall the product, or prove that something is broken. “It wasn't what I expected” is a perfectly valid reason.
How to Request a Refund
Requesting a refund is simple and takes less than two minutes:
- Open a request: Email us at the address listed on our contact page, or open a ticket on our support forum.
- Include your order details: Your order ID (found in your purchase receipt email) and the email address used at checkout.
- Tell us it's a refund request: A single sentence is enough — for example, “Please refund order #12345, the theme isn't a fit.”
That's it. There are no forms to fill out, no exit surveys that block your refund, and no phone calls required.
Response & Processing Time
Once we receive your request, here is what happens:
- Acknowledgement: Within 24 hours (usually much faster), we confirm we've received your request.
- Refund issued: Within 1–3 business days of approval, the refund is processed back to your original payment method.
- Your bank: Depending on your bank or card issuer, it can take an additional 3–10 days for the funds to appear on your statement. This delay is controlled by your bank, not by us.
Payment provider fees: Please note that our payment processors (FastSpring, Freemius, Stripe, and PayPal) charge a small, non-refundable transaction fee for processing refunds. This fee is deducted from your refund amount and is borne by you, as it cannot be recovered by us. The exact fee depends on your payment method and is typically a small percentage of the original transaction.
Once a refund is issued, your license key is automatically deactivated and you will no longer receive updates or priority support for that product. You may continue using the free version of the theme, which remains yours forever under the GPL.
Exceptions
The 14-day money-back guarantee applies to digital theme and addon purchases. The following are not covered by this guarantee:
- Custom development services — these are governed by the separate terms in your project proposal (see Custom Services below).
- Renewals — the guarantee covers your initial purchase only. Automatic renewal payments are not refundable once the renewal period has begun, but you can cancel renewal at any time before it charges.
- Free themes downloaded from WordPress.org — these cost nothing, so there is nothing to refund.
Custom Services & the $399 Launch
Our custom WordPress development services — including the flat-rate $399 Launch package, theme customizations, and full website builds — operate under different terms because they involve human labour and committed project time.
For custom services:
- Payment structure: we collect 50% upfront to secure your project slot and 50% upon completion, before final handoff.
- If we have not yet started work, you can cancel for a full refund of your upfront payment.
- If work has begun, refunds are calculated based on the work completed up to the point of cancellation, as outlined in your project agreement.
- If we fail to deliver the agreed-upon scope, you are eligible for a full or partial refund based on what was delivered.
These terms ensure fairness to both sides and are always agreed in writing before any project begins.
